I scream for ice cream...I scream with inextricable joy. Because I love it, THAT much. However, even I know that one can have too much of a good thing. I have experience in that. Yes, with ice cream.
I’ve seen many recipes utilizing frozen bananas to make a sort of ice cream-like treat, but have for a while doubted that it would be anything like the real thing. Until I tried it. People, it’s delicious! And more nutritious (or at least not as un-nutritious?) than actual ice cream. You can do so much with it too, such as add strawberries or chocolate, or really any flavoring that you’d like! But here’s a little basic vanilla banana ice cream recipe to get you started…
Vanilla Spice Banana Ice Cream
- 3 frozen bananas
- ¼ cup of milk (any type will do)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- A dash of nutmeg
- Topping of your choosing!
In a food processor, blend all ingredients (except for the toppings!) until thick and smooth. Top with whatever you like. This could probably serve four people, but my husband and I are monsters and ate it all between the two of us, *winky face.
